Phenyl Production
Phenyl Production
Phenyl Production:
Generally, Phenyl or phenol is a cleaner. It has disinfectant and deodorizing
properties. The item is used in the homes, hospitals, offices, nursing homes,
hotels, restaurant, school and colleges, railway station and other such places
of human inhabitation. The manufacturing process is simple. You can start this
business as the small-scale basis.
MANUFACTURING PROCESS:
The scope for the Manufacture of this disinfectant should be prepared
as soft soap. This is first dissolved in Water and then the cresote Oil
is added to form the emulsion. Great care need to be taken while the
saponification of the Oil with the alkali takes place.
How is Phenyl made:
White Phenyle (sometimes written as Phenyl) is a disinfecting agent made
from pine Oil. It is made by using an Emulsifier- a compound that allows
an Oil to stably make a solution with Water. Without the addition of an
Emulsifier the Oil and Water would continuously separate if the
solution sits for too long.
What is the use of Phenyl:
Also known as carbolic acid, it is widely used an an antiseptic and
disinfectant for instance in Noxzema skin cream and Chloraseptic throat spray.
It is also used in large quantities in industrial Organic synthesis, making
plastics and all sorts of chemicals.
Why is castor Oil used to make Phenyl:
Castor Oil is used in cosmetic industry and its moisturizing, anti-bacterial
and anti-inflammatory properties makes it useful for relieving body pain,
inducing bowel movement as well as providing moisture required by the body.
It also acts as humectants and is also used as a cure for lumbago,
sciatica and rheumatism.
Phenyl Making Formula:
Rosin – 2.50 Kg. Groundnut Oil – 2 Kg.
Caustic Soda – 250 gram. Caustic Potash – 250 gram.
Distilled Water – 7.5 liter. Low Creosote Oil – 15 Liter.
Carbolic Acid – 15 gram. Soft Water – 2-4 Liter.
Do phenols kill viruses:
For example, phenols can get a wide variety of microbes, such as bacteria,
fungi and viruses. In addition, phenols are not considered to be sporicidal,
meaning they do not kill off the hardiest forms of bacteria - the bacterial
endospores.
What is Phenyl formula:
In Organic chemistry, the Phenyl group or Phenyl ring is a cyclic group of atoms
with the formula C6H5. Phenyl groups are closely related to benzene and can be
viewed as a benzene ring, minus a hydrogen, which may be replaced by some
other element or compound to serve as a functional group.
Is Phenyl acidic or basic:
Many drugs as well as many pollutants contain Phenyl rings. One of the simplest
Phenyl-containing compounds is phenol, C6H5OH. It is often said the resonance
stability of phenol makes it a stronger acid than that of aliphatic alcohols
such as ethanol (pKa = 10 vs. 16–18).
How do you make white Phenyl:
Combine the pine Oil with the Emulsifier and stir them together.
At first, the solution will appear milky in color. This is normal.
Continue to stir and then let it rest until the solution clears.
Once the solution clears you will have concentrated white Phenyl.
