Supply Chain Management
Supply Chain Management
What is SCM (Supply Chain Management).
In a simple way, in short, beginning we can discuss about 5 things.
1. Supplier: Will provide Raw material to Manufacturer. 2. Manufacturer: Will make products.
3. Distributor: Will take the products from Manufacturer, then send to Retailer.
4. Retailer: Will receive products from Distributor then provide to Customer.
5. Customer: Finally Customer will take the product and consume it.
This is the basic system going on in SCM. If you remember this concept, you can elaborate as you like with examples.
These suggestions are for MBA Students and interesting people to understand at a Glance.
If we elaborate more clearly: -
Supplier: will get the raw material from mines, finished goods, compiling etc.
and he will supply to Manufacturer, through air, bus, rail, flight transportation etc. Not only that, he should
care of Upload and Download charges also he should bear with his team.
Manufacturer: will make the product, It includes processing cost, maintenance cost, Salaries,
Other overheads. By calculating all these costs, including profit at least 15% should be there. Otherwise he cannot Maintain the factory.
Distributor: will take the products from Manufacturer, again he should bear some packing costs also,
because, he will take in bulk from Manufacturer, again he should go for packing each item to provide to Retailer.
Retailer: Will take the products from Distributor, gain he should Maintain the cost of maintenance,
in shop, electricity, Air conditioning, shopping rents, sales boys Salaries etc.
Customer: Will select the product, he likes with warranty, guaranty and with service support from Dealers.
This is the synopsis in Supply Chain Management. Suppose, if you want a sample project for submission, you can select a manufacturing company
with the permission of your college and academic body, then write according to that company process.
Wishing you all the best.
