What is Petrochemical Refining: The PetroChemicals industry sources raw materials from Refining and Gas-processing and converts these raw materials into valuable products using a variety of chemical process technologies. How is Petroleum Refined: The first part of Refining Crude Oil is to heat it until it bOils. The BOiling liquid is separated into different liquids and Gases in a distillation column. These liquids are used to make Petrol, paraffin, Diesel fuel etc. The BOiling Oil turns into a mixture of Gases in the column.

How long does it take to Refine Crude Oil: Around 12 to 24 hours. Turning Crude Oil into Refined Gasoline. Generally, every 30,000-barrel batch takes around 12 to 24 hours to undergo through analytical testing and pass quality control. A key stage is ultra-Heating the Crude to BOiling point, with a distillation column used to separate the liquids and Gases.


How does Crude Oil look like: Sometimes it is almost colourless, or it can be thick and black. But Crude Oil usually looks like thin, brown treacle. When Crude Oil comes out of a well especially an undersea well, the Crude Oil is often mixed with Gases, water and sand. It forms an emulsion with the water that looks a bit like caramel.
